Afghanistan is not a country that I would want to die for, Afghans never managed to be nor to have a united country, the British never managed to control the Khyber Pass, the Soviets wanted an access to the Indian Ocean ... and what do you, the people, propose ? In view of what happened, I would have let Russia win ... and everybody knows the Russians (or if you want the Soviets) could not have won the war. They would have been obliged to find another solution, one reason less to blame the US.
Peace and freedom cannot be offered when people do not unite. The Afghan tribes have not ever united their efforts in the past 120 years ... and this is true for other countries as well ...
War is no religion ...
